Captain Martin Frobisher took 3 Inuits, a man a woman and a baby boy hostage in response to some of his men being captured, during a voyage to Canada in 1577.

He never had his men returned, so decided to bring them to Bristol.

Sadly all three died. The man and the woman died in Bristol and were buried here. The boy was taken to London, with the intention to be seen by Queen Elizabeth I. He died before that could happen, and was buried in St. Olaf's chuchyard.
